Most guests will be flying into either Florence Airport (Peretola) or Pisa International Airport, both of which are well connected and within easy reach of Villa Catignara. Florence is the closer option, about an hour’s drive from the villa, and the easiest choice if you can find a direct flight. Pisa is around an hour and a half away, with more flight options from regional UK airports. Either way, the journey through the Tuscan countryside is beautiful and straightforward. If you’re wondering whether you’ll need a car, the short answer is no. Once you arrive at the villa you won’t need to drive anywhere, as everything is on site. You can either hire a car for flexibility or share taxis with other guests arriving around the same time. Splitting the journey keeps the cost down, and both airports have plenty of reliable options just outside the terminal. A quick note on flights: June is a busy time in Tuscany, so flights to Florence and Pisa can fill up quickly. The best time to book is around four to six months before the wedding, when fares are usually at their lowest. Most airlines now offer flexible tickets, so it’s worth locking something in early to get the best deal. For the return trip, it’s worth organising your transport in advance, as taxis are harder to arrange last minute in the countryside. We’ll create a WhatsApp group closer to the time so that anyone leaving on the same day can coordinate shared rides or lift shares back to the airport. There’s also free parking at the villa if you’re driving.

Everyone will be staying together at Villa Catignara, which should make the whole weekend really easy and relaxed. The villa and its adjoining farmhouse are completely ours for the weekend, and there’s more than enough room for everyone invited. Each apartment and room is a little different, with its own Tuscan charm — old beams, terracotta floors, and views across the hills. It’s a lovely place to spend a few days and means no one needs to think about taxis or travelling once they’ve arrived. We’ll share room allocations and practical details like check-in and check-out times closer to the date. For now, all you need to know is that everyone’s accommodation is covered, and everything you’ll need is right there on site. The villa has free parking for anyone hiring a car, and the drive from Florence or Pisa takes just over an hour through the countryside. Arrival time If you can aim to get to the villa by around 3 p.m. on Friday, that would be perfect. It gives everyone a chance to unpack, have a drink, and settle in before the evening welcome drinks.

We’d love the weekend to feel relaxed and easy for everyone, so we’re keeping the celebration focused on adults. The only children attending will be those from our immediate families. We know this means some extra planning for parents, and we’re so grateful for the effort it takes to travel and make arrangements. Our hope is that it gives everyone a proper chance to unwind, enjoy the surroundings, and celebrate together. The villa will be completely full across the weekend, and there are no spare rooms available. Every space has been allocated to the guests named on the invitations, so we’re unable to accommodate additional guests or plus ones unless specifically included. It wouldn’t be Italy without great food and wine, and that’s very much the plan. The weekend will include plenty of both, starting with a relaxed dinner on Friday evening to welcome everyone to the villa. Breakfast will be served at Villa Catignara on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, so you can start each day with good coffee and something light before everything gets underway. Saturday will be the main event, with drinks and dinner served outdoors overlooking the vineyards, followed by plenty of music and late-night celebrations. Expect a lot of good food, great wine, and a few surprises along the way. On Sunday, we’ll have a more laid-back brunch before people start heading off or spending an extra day or two in Tuscany. All meals during the weekend will be covered, and we’ll make sure there’s something for everyone. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, just let us know when you RSVP so we can pass that along to the caterers.

We’ll have a photographer and videographer with us for the weekend to capture everything, so you can relax and just enjoy it. During the ceremony we’d love everyone to keep phones tucked away, but after that feel free to take photos or videos if you’d like. Once everything’s ready, we’ll share a link so you can see and download the photos and videos from the weekend.

If you’re thinking about turning the trip into a bit of a summer holiday, Tuscany is an incredible place to do it. The villa sits just outside Siena, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and quiet hilltop towns. There’s plenty to see nearby if you want to explore. Siena itself is beautiful and easy to spend a day wandering around. The Chianti wine region is on the doorstep, with vineyards and farmhouses dotted through the hills, and places like San Gimignano, Pienza and Montepulciano are all within easy reach for a day trip. For anyone thinking of going further afield, Florence is about an hour away and makes a great city stop before or after the weekend. Whether you make a proper holiday of it or just come for the wedding weekend, it’s a stunning part of the world and we’re so excited to share it with everyone.

Dress code The whole weekend will be outdoors and relaxed, so think light, summery and comfortable. Tuscany in June is warm during the day, usually around 28–32°C, and cooler in the evenings. The ceremony and dinner will be outside, so bring something you’ll feel good in and maybe a light layer for later. Power Italy uses the standard European two-pin plug, so bring an adaptor if you’re travelling from the UK. Weather June is one of the best times to be in Tuscany. Expect warm sunny days, cooler evenings and the odd short shower. We’ll have cover arranged just in case, but the odds are firmly in our favour for sunshine.
